Kamala Harris, the Vice President of the United States, is apparently frustrated with the hit ABC show ‘The View’ because she was supposed to appear on the show but it was cancelled at the last minute when two of their hosts obtained positive COVID tests. CNN reported on the issue, and even they were stunned at Kamala’s annoyance with what happened.
Kamala made an appearance on the view just last week after her office administration required that the hosts of the show get the PCR tests leading up to 24 hours when the time of said interview was supposed to take place, according to an anonymous source. Even though the hosts take tests for COVID, they took the additional test and expedited it in the afternoon following the show’s recording on Thursday.
One representative from ‘The View’ said that they’d reportedly satisfied all of the requirements and gave Kamala’s office the ‘all clear’ sometime later that night, according to a source at CNN.
Harris and all of her staff didn’t learn about the positive COVID test results until much later, when two of the co-hosts, Ana Navarro and Sunny Hostin were removed and taken from the set while they were live on-air, just before Kamala was about to sit down and be interviewed on the show. The interview did eventually take place virtually, where the vice President was sent somewhere else in the studio and isolated. Later, it was found out the so-called positives were false, and Navarro and Hostin will be allowed back to the studio sometime this week.
This incident left Harris and her office feeling like the staff on the show, ‘The View’ hadn’t been forthcoming with them, according to another anonymous source. Apparently Kamala is ‘deeply concerned’ about what occurred. Other sources say that the chaos that ensued embarrassed and irritated the President of ABC News, Kim Godwin, who was present at the live taping of the show.
‘The View’ refused to comment on the matter, and so did Kamala Harris’ office when they were asked to provide comments by CNN.
Executive Producer of ‘The View,’ Brian Teta, said that he removed Navarro and Hostin to help ensure the health and safety of everyone who was present during the interview, including Kamala Harris. He said that what occurred caused some super awkward television, and he wishes he could take it back.
