“Dark winter” indeed. Biden’s infamous commentary about a “dark winter” coming (all the more chilling considering the current situation in Texas) clearly explains why he has retained Fauci as his resident COVID “expert,” in spite of all the constant flip flopping Fauci has demonstrated over the past year.
However, Mr. Fauci apparently shares Biden’s views regarding a “dark winter,” considering the stunner of a statement he recently made on COVID vaccinations.
In a dialogue with Los Angeles Times reporter Chris Megerian, COVID vaccines became a topic of discussion, and the reporter asked Biden what vaccinated individuals can expect, given that they are now supposedly protected from COVID.
“There’s a lot of conversation about how you need to keep doing the same things even after you get vaccinated — you know, like wearing a mask, not seeing your family, things like that. Do you think that’s preventing people from being more enthusiastic about getting vaccines? And may we see that change in the future?” [Source: The Blaze]
Needless to say, Fauci’s reply was not exactly a ringing endorsement for the COVID vaccine.
“So there are things, even if you’re vaccinated, that you’re not going to be able to do in society: for example, indoor dining, theaters, places where people congregate … That’s because of the safety of society. You, yourself, what you can do when you are together with another person, we are looking at that, and we’re going to try and find out very quickly what recommendations could be made about what people can do.” [Source: The Blaze]
So, in other words, even when people get vaccinated … they still have to live as though they are in lockdown. In fact, Fauci didn’t even bother to hide the fact that Americans may as well be permanently locked down, considering he had no issue remarking that even once someone has been vaccinated, they are “not going to be able to do” various things in society.
In addition, Fauci also showed his rather obvious ignorance regarding what is going on in sane, conservative states, given his references to “indoor dining” (which has been open for months, albeit at limited capacity, in more than one state).
Furthermore, an especially chilling phrase includes “places where people congregate.” Well, that can literally be just about anywhere, so Fauci’s emphasis on an effectively jail-like existence is highly troubling. In fact, even more troubling, given that jails are also a location where people “congregate.”
Worst of all, Fauci has the gall to say that all of these draconian measures are for “the safety of society.”
How about the safety of democracy?! Not to mention liberty?!
Fauci then proceeded to offer word salad on “herd immunity,” conveniently shifting the goal posts (again), likely in a horrifying attempt to make effective imprisonment and restricted movements the new “normal” in the United States.
“When polls said only about half of all Americans would take a vaccine, I was saying herd immunity would take 70 to 75% … then, when newer surveys said 60% or more would take it, I thought, ‘I can nudge this up a bit,’ so I went to 80, 85.” [Source: The Blaze]
Ok, great. Glad you can “nudge” up herd immunity, Fauci. Would it be possible to borrow your crystal ball? As more than one is dying to know when 2022 will arrive and drive out some of this madness.
Speaking of madness, Fauci actually had the nerve to lecture Americans about humility.
“We have to have some humility here … We really don’t know what the real number is. I think the real range is somewhere between 70 to 90%. But, I’m not going to say 90%.” [Source: The Blaze]
Says the man who was just fine with D.C. relabeling Christmas Eve “Dr. Fauci Day” for … no reason.
So, from double masking to enhanced travel restrictions to apparently ineffective vaccines, Americans are left, once again, with wondering not only when normality may return … but if it will return.
